Heymi — Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Heymi mobile application ("Heymi", the "App", the "Service") and explains what information Heymi processes, why, who it is shared with, where it is stored, how long it is kept and how you can delete it.

Heymi is an interactive fiction app for adults. You swipe on and chat with fictional characters whose replies are written by an artificial intelligence (AI) model. Every character is fictional; no character is a real person, and no real person reads or answers your messages.

1. Who we are

Heymi is operated by HIGGS MCHJ ("Higgs", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Uzbekistan, which is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us about privacy at higgs.core@gmail.com.

2. Summary

• No sign-up required. The App creates an anonymous account on first launch. You may link Sign in with Apple (or Google) to keep your account on another phone.
• What we keep: the profile you enter (name, birth date, gender, who you want to see, and anything you add about yourself), your swipes, your conversations with characters (including the photos you send them), what characters remember about you, your in-app balance and purchases, and technical data needed to run the Service.
• AI processing: to write a character's reply, the conversation is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI). It is not used to train their models.
• No selling, no ads in the App. We do not sell your data or show ads in Heymi. We measure how the App is used (Section 3.9) and which of our own ads brought you here (Section 3.8); if you allow tracking when your iPhone asks, Meta may also use your device's advertising identifier for that, and you can change your answer at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
• Delete any time: Settings → Delete account removes your conversations, photos, memories and profile.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Account

On first launch the App creates an account identified by a random identifier generated by our server. It is not your name, email, phone number or Apple ID. If you link Sign in with Apple or Google, we store the stable, app-specific account identifier that Apple or Google gives us, so the same account opens on your other devices; for Sign in with Apple we also keep the token Apple issues, only so that we can revoke your Apple sign-in when you delete your account. We do not store your Apple or Google password, and we do not ask for your email address.

3.2 Profile and preferences

The name you choose to be called, your birth date (to confirm you are an adult, show your age and work out your star sign), your gender, the gender and age range of characters you want to see, the story categories you pick, your time zone (so characters' messages fit your day) and the language of the App. If you choose to add them, your profile photo, your job, your interests and a few words about yourself.

3.3 Conversations and activity

The messages you write to characters and their replies, the messages you quote when you answer one, the reactions you add, your swipes (like, pass, super like), the characters you report and why, your relationship progress with each character, and the story "dates" you play, including the answers you write there. To let a character remember your story, we keep a short summary of each conversation and short facts drawn from it (for example your plans, what you like, or something you told the character about yourself), and we turn older messages and facts into numerical representations ("embeddings") so the character can find what is relevant to the moment. Facts can include personal details you choose to share, such as something about your health; you can delete them as described in Section 9. From your recent messages we also write a personality profile (traits, an archetype and a few short chapters) that only you see, on your profile.

3.4 Photos you send

If you send a character a photo, we re-encode it, which removes its metadata and location, check it with an automated moderation service and have an AI model write a short description of it; the character reads that description, not the image. We keep the photo, its caption and its description with your conversation.

3.5 Purchases

Your gem balance and its history, and your VIP subscription status and dates. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your card details (see Section 6.2).

3.6 Notifications

If you allow notifications, the push token Apple issues for your device, so that a character's new message can reach you. A notification shows the beginning of the character's message and is delivered through Apple.

3.7 Technical data

Our servers record technical logs of requests (time, the address the request came from, the part of the Service used, the result, and your account identifier) to operate and secure the Service, investigate faults and prevent abuse. Logs never contain the text of your messages or the descriptions of your photos.

3.8 How you found Heymi

If you installed Heymi after seeing or tapping one of our ads on the App Store, Apple tells us which of our Apple Ads campaigns, ad groups, keywords and ads it was, the country, and when you saw or tapped it. Apple does not tell us who you are. We keep this with your account to learn which of our ads work.

Heymi includes Meta's software development kit. It tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when the App is installed and opened and when you finish the first-run questions, with a random identifier for this installation; RevenueCat tells Meta about your subscriptions and purchases with the same identifier. Meta uses this to measure and improve our ads on its services. If you allow tracking when your iPhone asks, your device's advertising identifier is included as well; you can withdraw that at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Meta never receives your messages, your photos, your profile or your conversations.

3.9 How you use the App

We record how the App is used: which screens you open and what you do there (for example a swipe, a match, a message sent and its length, a reaction, a purchase and its price) and when, together with your account identifier, your device model, the App and iOS versions, and the approximate city your connection comes from. With these events we keep a few details about your account: your gender, your age band, who you want to see, your favourite story categories, your level, whether you have VIP, whether you signed in, your answers to the notification and tracking questions, and the Apple Ads campaign you came from. We never record what you write or the photos you send. We use this to understand which parts of Heymi work and to fix the ones that do not.

4. How we use information

We do not show ads in Heymi and do not sell, rent or trade your information. We use it for advertising only to measure and improve our own ads (Sections 3.8 and 6.6).

5. AI-generated content

Characters' messages are generated by an AI model from the character's fictional background and your conversation. They may be inaccurate or unexpected and do not represent the views of Higgs. Please do not share sensitive personal information (such as health, financial or identity details) in your conversations: what you write may be remembered by the character as described in Section 3.3. You can report a character from its profile; reports help us review and adjust characters.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers below, only to run the Service, and only to the extent each needs.

6.1 AI provider (OpenAI)

To write a reply, a date scene, a conversation summary, the facts a character remembers or your personality profile, we send OpenAI the relevant part of the conversation, the character's background, the summary and facts of your story, and the profile details a reply depends on (the name you chose, your age, star sign and gender, your local time, and your job, interests and description of yourself if you added them). We also use OpenAI to create the embeddings described in Section 3.3 and to moderate and describe the photos you send (Section 3.4). Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train OpenAI's models and may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deletion.

6.2 Apple and RevenueCat (purchases)

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to validate purchases and subscriptions; it receives your Heymi account identifier and App Store transaction details and, to attribute purchases to our ads, the App Store ad token, your device's identifier for our apps, Meta's installation identifier and, if you allow tracking, your advertising identifier. It never receives your payment card details. On our behalf, RevenueCat also tells Meta and Mixpanel about your subscriptions and purchases (Sections 6.6 and 6.7). If you request a refund from Apple, Apple may ask us for information about your use of the purchase to decide the request.

6.3 Apple and Google (sign-in and notifications)

If you link Sign in with Apple or Google, those companies confirm your sign-in under their own privacy policies. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service.

6.4 Hosting and storage

Our servers and database run at OVHcloud in France (European Union). Character photos, voice notes, your profile photo and the photos you send are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage, at long random addresses that are not listed anywhere. Daily backups of the database are kept on our server and in private Cloudflare R2 storage. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

6.5 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or security of our users, the public or Higgs.

6.6 Advertising measurement

Apple (Apple Ads) tells us which of our App Store ads brought you here, as described in Section 3.8. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta Platforms, Inc. outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) receives the App events and purchase events described in Section 3.8 to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram, under Meta's Business Tools Terms and its own privacy policy.

6.7 Product analytics

Mixpanel, Inc. stores the App's usage events and the account details described in Section 3.9 for us in the European Union and processes them only to provide its analytics service to us.

7. International transfers

Your information is stored in the European Union and processed in the United States by OpenAI, RevenueCat, Meta, Cloudflare, Apple and, if you use it, Google; Mixpanel keeps the App's usage events in the European Union. By using the Service you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, with the safeguards those providers offer.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your profile and conversations while your account exists, so your stories continue where you left them. Deleting a chat removes its messages, summary, facts and the photos you sent in it. You can delete your account at any time in the App: Settings → Delete account. Deleting it immediately removes your conversations (with their summaries, facts, embeddings and dates), the photos you sent and your profile photo, your swipes, preferences, activity, notifications, push tokens, personality profile and the record of the ad you came from; clears your profile (name, birth date, gender, time zone, job, interests, description of yourself and linked Apple/Google identifier); revokes your Sign in with Apple; and signs you out everywhere. What we keep is tied only to your account's random identifier, no longer to your name or profile: the record of your purchases, gem transactions, balance and VIP dates, which we need for accounting and to handle refunds, your level and the App's language, and the reason given in any report you made. Deleted information may remain in our backups for up to 30 days, until they are removed. The App's usage events in Mixpanel and the purchase records at RevenueCat carry only your account identifier, never your name or what you write; we delete them on request. Technical logs are rotated automatically and kept only for a limited time. If you can no longer open the App, write to higgs.core@gmail.com and we will help you delete your data.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. Most of these can be done in the App: edit your profile, delete a fact a character remembers about you (anyone can delete them; reading and correcting them is part of Heymi VIP), delete a chat, or delete your account. For anything else, write to higgs.core@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Adults only

Heymi is intended only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Heymi, contact us and we will delete the account.

11. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access-controlled infrastructure and hashed session tokens. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the App.
